A project of Wrought Iron Railings in Toronto Help Spruce Things Up

August 26, 2013 By Toronto Railings

An older couple in Toronto recently contacted us about our selection of wrought iron railings. They told us that someone had lost control of his car and hit the front of their home, destroying their front stoop. While nobody wants to find themselves in this type of situation, this family realized how lucky they were, and decided to make the best of it. Even though they were still a little shaken, they recognized the opportunity that was handed to them, and seized the chance to put a larger porch on the front of their brick cottage. They had spent decades wishing they had an actual porch, instead of a plain, small stoop leading up to their door. They felt that a brick porch with wrought iron railings would not only fulfill their desires, but also look like an original part of their home.

Rustic Beauty Enhanced With Wrought Iron Railings

Nothing compliments the rustic beauty of brick as well as wrought iron railings and this family was pleased with what we had to offer. They showed us some sketches of what they had planned, and we assured them that we had the materials to make it happen. They were able to replace their stoop with an actual porch with room for outdoor furniture, an open view of the street and steps down each side, all railed in wrought iron between brick columns. The couple was delighted with the final result, and we were happy to be a part of it.

With a variety of materials and styles to choose from, Toronto Railings offers a complete selection to satisfy anyone’s needs, both indoors and out. Whether it’s wrought iron railings, wooden deck railings, or even eco-friendly composite railings (made from recycled plastics), we are confident that we have what you are looking for. Whether you need wrought iron railings for your new home, or for a renovation, call us today and see what we can do for you!

A project of Hand Railings in Toronto Keep the Elderly Safe

August 25, 2013 By Toronto Railings

A recent phone call came in from a Toronto retirement home regarding hand railings to help with a remodeling job. The requirements were pretty simple; they needed hand railings down each side of every hallway in the facility to offer more stability to their aging tenants. They wanted the rails to be sturdy and easy to clean, and they knew that stainless steel would probably be the best choice. We took the time to show them several options and listen to their concerns about the safety of their clients. In the end, we agreed that stainless steel would be the right way to go.

Hallway hand railings are required by law in convalescent homes, retirement centers, rehabilitation facilities and hospitals to offer added security to their patients and guests that might not be too steady on their feet. Depending on their specialization, privately run doctors’ offices and clinics may not be required to have hand railings, but most do anyway. The railings have to be durable, resistant to germs and bacteria, and must be mounted at a specific height to satisfy government regulations. This is the kind of knowledge we bring to the table at Toronto Railings.

Hand Railings for Safety and Peace of Mind

It seems like everyone has an aging loved one or friend in one type of facility or another. None of us want to imagine something unfortunate happening to them, especially if it could have been prevented. The required hand railings in medical and convalescent facilities offer a steady, dependable helping hand to clients and, just as important, offer a little peace of mind to those of us who care about them.
At Toronto Railings we want to provide you with the same kind of top-quality materials and know-how that we provided for our friends at the retirement center. You deserve the same level of quality, safety and peace of mind.

If you need hand railings for your home or business in Toronto, call us today.

Hand Rails Help Rehab Patients in Toronto

August 23, 2013 By Toronto Railings

The other day, we got a call from a physical therapist who needed hand rails for her new practice in Toronto. She had several railing applications at her new facility, including step bridges, and safety rails for 3 different therapeutic spas. She had found that many of the more basic rehabilitation components were generally constructed on-site, which she felt would be less expensive anyway. We listened carefully to her requirements, discussed several different materials and styles, and helped her make an educated decision.

A Therapeutic Use for Hand Rails

When a patient is learning to walk again, several simple fixtures are used, such as a walkway with hand rails on each side, an arched foot bridge, and a step bridge. All the walls and corridors of her new facility would require handrails as well. Her 3 heated whirlpool tubs would need hand rails along the sides and at the steps. With so many different applications in one place, we were glad she came to us for help. This was a detailed project, and we wanted to be sure she got exactly what she needed.

The components that we helped construct would be used by amputees who were learning to use their new prosthetic legs, spinal injury patients, and even athletes that had undergone knee and ankle surgery. We certainly wanted to make sure the therapist was happy with our work, but more importantly, we couldn’t let her patients down. In a matter of a few days, she had everything she needed, and was delighted with our work.
At Toronto Railings, we see all sorts of applications for hand rails, some more interesting than others. But with a variety of materials, a great selection of styles, plus the know-how to get the job done right, we are ready for anything.

When your Toronto project needs hand rails, and needs to be done right, give us a call!

A project of Wooden Railings in Toronto Offer a Return to Former Glory

August 22, 2013 By Toronto Railings

A very old, beautiful church in Toronto recently underwent a complete renovation and needed several styles of wooden railings. Its congregation called us for help replacing the aging balcony railings and staircase railings of its choir loft. These railings were huge, ornately carved wood that, unfortunately, had not been well taken care of over their decades of service. The church’s followers hoped to restore as many of the wooden railings as they could, but they knew that most would have to be replaced. When properly maintained, wooden railings for indoor applications can last a lifetime, but nothing lasts forever. With so much ornate wood to refurbish or replace, the church hoped we could provide an economical solution. We discussed their options and listened to their concerns, then showed them what we had to offer.

Wooden Railings Restore Beauty and Safety

At Toronto Railings, we understood that besides restoring the beauty of this old church, the wooden railings had a specific job to do. No matter how pretty they were, these railings were there to insure the safety of the congregation, and that meant no shortcuts. Besides the wooden railings of the choir loft and staircases, the railings that lined the raised pulpit were in rough shape as well. Even though these wooden railings weren’t a safety concern, just because of their condition, they needed to be replaced. In the end, the church’s family elected to replace all the wooden railings in their chapel.
Even though you may not need to replace as many railings as our friends at the church did, we know that we have the materials and know-how to handle your needs. Our knowledgeable staff is ready to find the style that is right for you.

If it’s time to replace your wooden railings in Toronto, call Toronto Railings today.

A New Nightclub in Toronto Features Stainless Steel Railings

August 21, 2013 By Toronto Railings

Not long ago, a Toronto design firm contacted us about our line of stainless steel railings. They had been asked to design a new nightclub, which featured a sunken dance floor, balcony seating and a terrace. The club would feature a hip, modern look, and the designers felt stainless steel railings fit the bill. In most domestic applications, such as staircase railings and deck railings, the safety of complete strangers isn’t a major concern. The designers knew that the safety of the club’s patrons would be an issue if not addressed in the initial design. With so many potential hazards facing its customers, the club couldn’t afford for anyone to get hurt. The architects felt that stainless steel railings were the only acceptable choice.

Stainless Steel Railings Offer Safety, Durability, and Great Looks

In order to ensure the safety of its guests, all of the night club’s railings would need to be sturdy and safe. They would need to fit with the modern motif, and made of a material that would be easy to keep clean. Stainless steel railings were the perfect solution for the terrace, the various balconies, and around the sunken dance floor. It would be virtually indestructible, easy to clean and offer the level of safety necessary for a public gathering place. Best of all, the design firm was confident that we were up to the challenge.
At Toronto Railings, we know we have the material and style to suit your needs, even if safety is not your primary concern. With materials like stainless steel, wrought iron and even eco-friendly composite (made from recycled plastics), durability will be no worry. And we have beautiful, carved woods like cedar and mahogany that will also fit any traditional railing application. If you need the safety, durability and great looks of stainless steel railings for your home or business, call us today.

Staircase Railings for a Beautiful First Home in Toronto

August 20, 2013 By Toronto Railings

Not long ago, we were approached by an up-and-coming Toronto businessman who needed staircase railings. He was about to move his family out of their condo, to the suburbs and into their first real home. This new house was still just a blueprint, but he wanted their dream home to be perfect, with a grand, winding staircase, indoor and outdoor balconies and a large deck in the back yard. He wanted everything to be top-quality and he had a variety of staircase railing needs to address. Every application would be slightly different and he was concerned that the building contractor would only provide the most basic materials to complete the job. We showed him our selection of materials and available styles, addressed the various concerns he faced, and assured him that he had come to the right place.

More Staircase Railing Styles for More Variety in Toronto

Every staircase railing application has its own unique issues to be considered. Outdoor deck railings and balcony railings are exposed to the weather, so they need to be constructed from material that is durable and can resist the elements. Indoor balcony railings and staircase railings don’t get abuse from the environment, and they can be made of more ornate materials like mahogany. But indoors, especially with young children, safety becomes a concern. With so many styles and materials to choose from, the young businessman found the right staircase railing, balcony railings, and deck railings for each application throughout his new home.
At Toronto Railings, we understand that every railing need is different – sometimes even if they are under the same roof. We have the selection, know-how, and experience to handle your railing needs, whether it’s for your new house or just a new look.

When you want top-quality staircase railings in Toronto, call us!
